About
It started with a Christmas nativity scene.
In December 2024, I was decorating for the holidays and couldn't find the right pieces for my crèche. So I thought — why not make them myself? I started with a tiny pizza. Then a baguette. Then I couldn't stop.
What began as a holiday experiment turned into an obsession, and honestly? I have zero regrets.
My name is Annick. I'm a Montrealer by choice, French and Malagasy by origin, and a food lover by nature. Before Minimik, I spent years in marketing. Then I lost my job. And instead of jumping back into the corporate world, I decided to do something that actually made me happy.
Turns out, that thing is sculpting tiny food from polymer clay.
I chose food as my subject because food is everything. It's comfort. It's culture. It's how we show love. A bowl of soup when you're sick. A birthday cake. Sunday dinner with family. Food carries memories and emotions that nothing else quite captures. So in a way, every little magnet and miniature I make is a tiny piece of that feeling — something you can hold, display, and smile at every day.
Every Minimik piece is handmade by me, in Montreal, one at a time. No factory. No duplicates. Just polymer clay, a lot of patience, and an embarrassing amount of love for tiny food.
Welcome to my little world. 🍕
